Michael Weberink

born in 1972

Studies of law at the Ruhr University in Bochum. He joined the Steinkohle und Nachbergbau [coal and post-mining] industry association in 2005 (until 28 February 2021: Gesamtverband Steinkohle e.V.), initially working as a policy officer in the Directorate for Labour and Social Law and later as a director. In 2015, he was appointed a board member and, since 2016, he has acted as the organisation’s managing director. Since 2015, he has been a regular member of the Board of Directors of the German Pension Insurance for Miners, Railway Workers and Seamen (since 2021 as an alternating chairman) and of the Federal Managing Board of the German Pension Fund (DRV Bund).

Michael Weberink has been a member of the German Social Advisory Council since 2017.
