Advisory body to the legislative bodies and the federal Government

The Social Advisory Council has existed since 1958 and is therefore the oldest advisory body to the legislative bodies and the Federal Government in Germany. The Social Advisory Council is composed of 12 members, i.e. four representatives of employees and employers respectively, three academic members from economic and social science faculties and one member respresenting the Deutsche Bundesbank.

The Social Advisory Council’s Office comes under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
